Truthfully,  this was the time where it was the most miserable to eat.   I ate pudding, hummus, eggs and  that was about it.  Pretty soon it will get better and you will want to branch out.   Hang in there!

I ate a lot of refried beans w/ mild hot sauce and ff sour cream. I also ate ff baked beans. Those chew up real easily and have lots of protein. I also ate Campbell's condensed split pea and ham soup. The ham bits are really small but you can always pick those out if you want to. Its a pretty thin soup but also has a lot of protein. I hated the stage you're in! You knew I had to eat but all I wanted to do was drink water all day long!

Good Luck!

The beginning is difficult but it will get better. I, too am a patient of Dr. Krahn's and I know his diet is protein only until we lose 75% of our excess body weight. At the beginning I did a lot of sugar free pudding with protein powder, protein shakes and tuna. Like you though the tuna got old real quick as did everything else, so I went ahead and made a pot of ground turkey chili which was a god send. I am now 6 weeks out and the turkey chili is still my staple. And while it has a small amount of carbs the protein content is still better than I was getting with what I was attempting to get down before. I make a big pot and freeze it in small ziploc storage containers.  That way I pull one out a week and always have something on hand that is pouch friendly and nutritious.
Good Luck,
Heather

I am told to eat lunch meat with cheese, but i too cant even get the desire for it.    good luck- it does get a little easier.  im bummed my dr doesnt have us take protein, we have to eat it.  and lately nothing stays down. I havent figured this whole eating thing out just yet !! =)

Talk to your doctor/nut about the sushi. I specifically asked my nutritionist about sushi at around 3 or 4 weeks, because it was my "diet" food of choice before the surgery. She claimed it would be ok on occasion (since it really isn't high in protein at all), as long as I got the "brown rice" variety and made sure to chew until it couldn't be chewed anymore, and to only eat 2 or 3 small pieces.
